The North Shore Dead Sea Squirrel Adventure

Just so the pictures make some sense, here's what we did on sunday.

We (P, K(3), Mom, Dad, and Tuts) met up with Team Zoolander (K1, T, C, and K4) at Costco and caravaned to the north shore to check out the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit at the Mormon Temple in La'ie.

We also enjoy playing "Bombardment" - OF BIBLE TRIVIA QUESTIONS!

Anyway, we checked out Lani's (surf spot) and then Ehukai beach park (home of the Banzai Pipeline surf spot). The waves were huge. No surf contest at Waimea Bay but a lot of folks out and checking the scene. We had a happy birthday picnic for T at the beach park, then headed to the Temple Visitor's center.

FALSE ADVERTISING! The Mormons didn't actually have the Dead Sea Scrolls, just some xerox copies on pleather. But it was fun to flirt with the idea of converting nonetheless.

I actually did make the mistake of asking why "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" has two prepositional phrases strung out next to each other (implying that there is more than one Jesus Christ). Six pamphlets later, I am enrolled to attend BYU-Hawaii next semester.

And that was pretty much the adventure. We're crazy, man.

The transcript of last year's New Year's Bokin' Eve - Mormona style.

Two monkeys in a tree.

Jesus! (Figure not actually to scale.)

Mmm, tastes like thumb.

After learning what our purpose in life is ("lasting joy") and what happens when we die (we play trumpet in an all-female jazz quartet in Kalamazoo, Michigan), this saint was all tuckered out.

T's Birthday

We had a nice Sunday exploring the North Shore with K(3)'s family - Mom, Dad, Tutu, T, K1, C, and K4.

Da gang.
Two sleepy braddahs. C kept asking, "Which one's the mommy?"
